A standard, lightweight 10 inch steam knife for uncapping combs of honey. This knife requires a unit to make steam - most people use an old pressure cooker to boil water on a gas burner.
This electrically heated 240 volt knife is the most convenient solution for uncapping frames of honeycomb.
The knives are calibrated to run around 290 °F. (143°C).
During initial preheating period knives will reach a higher temperature until it reaches its equilibrium.
Knives are not designed to adjust in the field and we do not recommend any adjustments. However if adjustment is required please call us for assistance.
Lowest temperature I would recommend is 250 °F. (121°C)
Highest 330°F. (165°C). At high temperature uncapping has to be done fast. Otherwise honey will start to burn.
