Heavy foundation is milled from thicker ribbon wax. The heavier core is more resistant to distortion in high speed extractors, and remains flatter on the frame. (Used more in hotter country areas )

As an alternative to bees wax foundation, plastic foundation can be re-used. Bees prefer the plastic to be coated in a layer of liquid bees wax - use a paint roller or brush.

Many beekeepers find that bees will fill and draw a smaller frame, at a much faster rate than a full depth frame. A super full of smaller frames is also lighter to lift and carry. WSP is one of the smaller sizes, named after W.S.Pender who designed it.
